Her wedding shower was last Saturday on Milligan Mountain

Isn't she beautiful? Nikki is marrying Sargie's nephew and godson, Taylor, September 12th at Holly and Ross's home on the shore of Crystal Lake in Iron Mountain.

I've more pictures of last Saturday's shower that I'll post further down.

Today was a red letter day. I received the part that was needed for my computer and after doing a bit of software work, my 2009 Macbook Pro is running at 100%. God bless the person who invented the simple, but reliable, Chromebook, but when it comes to doing serious work, writing a blog and posting pictures with a Chromebook is like running the Kentucky Derby with a mule.

Tim, his son, Sam, and I, took a long walk this morning. The boys walked seven miles, I trekked nine.

Most of Tuesday was spent pressure washing the drive and later, patching the larger cracks in the drive in preparation for applying sealer.

I spent no small amount of time filling any place where melt water could settle, freeze, expand, and eventually break the pavement apart.

Sargie kept busy painting the trim around the garage door and later, the railing on the front porch.

Jambo stopped by and I gladly traded him maple syrup for two jars of his famous wild blueberry jam. 

And now for a few pictures of Nikki's shower. Sargie took almost a hundred and did a wonderful job.

I'm meeting Tim and going for another long hike in the morning. Later, Sargie and I will seal the drive, a messy job that will take most of the day. The best thing about tomorrow's job is that twenty four hours from now, we won't have to do it for another year.

After all, a man's work is never done.
