Sargie with Jonathan and Drew Scott in Rhinelander on Monday afternoon. Sometimes they get together to "do lunch" |

OK, maybe they don't do lunch, but we saw this cardboard cutout in Kohl's in Rhinelander and couldn't resist.
Hey, I found my camera! Poor Sargie thought she'd lost it, but it very well could have been my fault. I must have taken it out of my pocket and laid it on the exercise bike Monday night just before peddling a few miles.
Look closely. It's difficult to see. No wonder we couldn't find it. |
Though yellow on the front, the back side is black and blended with the black plastic to look like part of the reading stand on the bike.
All you can really see is the round knob on the camera |
Anyway, the great camera mystery is solved, Sargie can quit worrying that she lost it, and I can resume snapping random photos throughout the day.
Yesterday was a busy one. Jambo walked with me to the Brule River and back. Though cold and windy, it was a beautiful morning.
We managed to solve most of the world's problems during our hike, but it's doubtful anyone will listen to us. Yooper Brother Mark and Mississippi Brother Garry and I have all solved the world's problems in years past and so far, no one has heeded any of our advice.
Part of our hike was on the groomed snowmobile trail coming out of northern Wisconsin |
The mechanic who was to install the remote starter, a Christmas gift for Sargie, has had the car for almost two weeks and has come up with excuse after excuse why the job hasn't been started. My patience ran out yesterday when I noticed the car hadn't been moved and was sitting outside covered in snow and ice. Sargie and I went to town last night and I brought it home. I'll find someone in Iron Mountain who wants my business as badly as I want to give it to him. Certainly our local mechanic doesn't care.
I went to the Verizon store to check on the status of my cell booster and outside antenna that was ordered almost three weeks ago. The little girl clerk promised it would be here Thursday by 2:30. I told her it better be or I'd cancel the order and get it through Amazon and have it in two days.
Amazing how the area businesses beg, almost plead, for one to shop locally and have a way of making a person feel guilty for shopping outside of the community. I don't mind occasionally paying a higher price to keep our local businesses intact, but when it comes to customer service, many are far worse than any big box store.
Kick me once and I'll probably turn around and hope it doesn't happen again. Kick me twice and I'll gladly drive to Iron Mountain or order online.
The rest of Tuesday was spent working around the house. Sargie has worked so hard to put away the Christmas decorations and make our home look normal again. I figured I could help out a bit, get the rest of the decorations carried to the storage shed and clean a bit.
Christmas is over and now it's onto summer.
Bring 'er on!

Sargie and I are off to Iron Mountain early this morning. I have a C Scan scheduled for my head to see if there really is a brain up there. Actually, my right eye is acting kind of funky and ruling out any disease, the doctor suspects I could be having migraine headaches in the back of my head and not even know it. I didn't know there was such a thing, but I guess we'll find out fairly quickly.
So that's the news from this end. We're off to sin city for a morning of fun and games.
Looking out Jambo's living room window towards Pentoga Road. Our house lies just behind those big trees in the distant left. |
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
