We're getting ready to head to bed after a very full day in Indiana.
I started the morning by visiting with Mom and catching up on the past several weeks. Poor lady has been through a horrific experience involving a long surgery, infection, a wound that is slow to heal, and a heart that sometimes refuses to cooperate.
None the less, Mom's doing physical therapy twice a day and for the first time since leaving the hospital and entering the wellness center several weeks ago, walked with us to her apartment and later, the dining room in her community. I observed her uncertain shuffling become steps, almost lively at times, as she neared her apartment and later as she talked with good friends, all who were delighted to see her.
Sargie and Mom worked for quite a while this morning exchanging her summer clothes for winter wear. After, we made our way to the dining room for lunch.
Though tired, she made the lengthy walk with little problem. We made a quick shopping excursion this afternoon while Mom had physical therapy.
Tonight, the three of us returned to her apartment and ordered a pizza to be delivered. It was a wonderful time and we were more like a bunch of junior high kids than the "more mature" people we're supposed to be.
Sargie and I will be heading north sometime mid Sunday morning. We'll not greet the sunrise, but hope to be home by mid evening. We both work on Tuesday and would like Monday to rest before beginning our work week. I sub Tuesday and Wednesday, Sargie works at the eye clinic on Tuesday and Thursday.
We'll be back in Indiana before Christmas, either to pick up Mom to come to the UP or for an early celebration with her down here. Either way, it won't be that long before we're together again.

So, for tonight, it's time to get this uploaded and think about heading to bed. It's a long ten hour drive that lies ahead of us tomorrow.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
