Pentoga Road
To sub tomorrow or not? That is the question. There's a middle school English position I could take, one I've done before. The teacher runs a tight ship and I've had no problems previously. It's just... I've already been in the schools three days this week and I really don't want to go back until Monday. On the other hand, what would I do tomorrow? Work on the bulldog, take a walk, enjoy a sunny day with above freezing temperatures, maybe chip away at some snow and ice on the drive.
Hmm, doesn't sound too bad. The last I knew, I was supposed to be retired.
I was pouring a cup of coffee this morning when I remembered I had a nine o'clock appointment for my last shingles shot at the Health Department. Since it was almost ten, I called, was told I could still come in, and made a mad dash for town. The shot was given and I was back home forty minutes later.
The rest of the morning was spent painting the bulldog intarsia piece. One color was finished before Sargie and I decided we'd take an afternoon drive to Rhinelander.
We purchased groceries, a lamp, and odds and ends that we probably could have lived without. Still, we had fun shopping, talking, eating, and spending time together. It was the perfect "us" day.

After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
You don't have the last name of Milligan and not celebrate St. Pat's Day! |
