The country maintainer is pushing back the snow banks in preparation for the next winter storm that is due to arrive Saturday night. |

Uh huh, there's more snow coming.
If there's a silver lining in all this, temperatures are to climb into the 40's this coming week.
Meanwhile, we'll plow one more time.
I began Friday morning with a five mile walk.
It was absolutely beautiful, but under all that snow, lies a solid base of clear ice, a souvenir from the deluge of freezing rain we received earlier this winter.
If it were thirty years ago, my sons would have strapped on their ice skates and zoomed up and down the road.
Sargie purchased a nice living room lamp yesterday, but she wanted it to have a three way switch.
I purchased a three way switch yesterday while in Rhinelander and performed some amateur living room electrician work this morning.
Sargie now has her three way lamp and that job can be checked off my honey do list.
The next chore of the day was to fix the handle on the kitchen sink. It originally fastened with a hex screw that stripped out soon after installation. Today I used a larger screw and a dab of epoxy to ensure the handle will stay permanently fastened.
I worked off and on during the day on Betty Lou the Bulldog. Betty Lou's been a challenge. I'd paint for half an hour then quit when I found myself getting sloppy. After doing something else, I'd return and paint for a while longer.
I'm planning to finish the bulldog puppy tomorrow. There's plenty of trim to paint, some touching up to do, add white to put some sparkle in the eyes, and of course, begin the long process of gluing all the pieces tightly together onto a backboard. Once everything's mounted, I'll finish it with several coats of poly.
Sargie's just called and is close to home. The poor girl closed the Vision Center tonight and will do the same tomorrow. Thankfully, she's off Sunday before beginning another long work week.
I'm going for my walk in the morning then plan to finish the bulldog. No doubt, I'll be fueling the four wheeler and snowblower in preparation of the forecast storm. Other than that, who knows, there might be a Saturday afternoon nap on the agenda.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
