The flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing, the hummingbirds humming, and the.... snow is falling again. |
25 degrees/snow/calm winds
Pentoga Road
After reviewing picture after picture of nothing but white, snowscapes, snow drifts, piles of snow, and falling snow, I thought I'd add a bit of color to today's blog. The flowers at the top are Sweet Williams, grown in last summer's garden.

There's just not a whole lot to talk about this morning. Since we both rise early in the day, Sargie and I are grateful for the time change that gives us an extra hour of daylight in the evening.
Now we can get out and work in the yard and garden... in another two months.
The rest of the day was spent at the dining room table assembling Betty.
Anyone who works with wood probably uses the craftsman's best friend, CA glue. The CA stands for a long, chemically named formula, but in layman's terms, it's really a super glue on steroids formulated for wood.
Only one problem with the CA variety. Just like conventional Super Glue, it continually clogs the nozzle. Yesterday, I attempted to remove the cap and ripped the spout from the original container.
Thankfully, I have new ones, designed just for the purpose of transferring and holding other liquids. It took awhile, but the CA glue was safely housed in several smaller containers. (Hobby Lobby sells them Garry.)
It was late afternoon before I pronounced the bulldog finished. She'll now go onto where ever it is art projects go and I'll move onto the next one.
Thankfully, Sargie beat the snow home last night and is off today before beginning another very long string of working days. I am scheduled to sub Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, this coming week. Hopefully, Tuesday and Thursday will remain open. I much prefer the every other day schedule.
I hope to begin buying framing lumber with which to build the new garden house this spring. After witnessing the record snowfall this winter, I've decided to forgo the cutsie garden house with multiple valleys in the roof for something just as quaint, but more practical.
The rear, facing south, will be almost all windows, so seedlings can be started there rather than in the living room.
Today? I doubt there'll be too much accomplished on this snowy Sunday. No doubt Sargie and I will go to town for her Coke, possibly pick up something yummy at the deli, and depending on the road conditions, go for a short ride.
I need to talk her into giving me a haircut and no doubt, that will be so exhausting that I'll have to take a short afternoon nap.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
