March 11, 2019 - Monday evening
22 degrees/clear skies/breezy
Pentoga Road
Could spring be around the corner? Monday was sunny, the temperature actually reached over the freezing mark, and I think every munchkin in Florence Elementary had a touch of spring fever.
Filling in for the fifth grade teacher today was a bit challenging. I'm not certain if it was the time change, the springtime weather, the moon, alignment of the planets, or just one of those days, but the Bob Kitties were ... active.
Lest you think I'm complaining, I'm not. I'll take a day of active Kitties over a normal day in most schools, but the old professor is tired tonight.
I team taught Monday afternoon with one of my favorite educators, Mrs. Cook. Kim is a master teacher in every way and as always, when I observe and work with a great educator, I learn something new. Kim has a lot to teach everyone, big and little alike.
I arrived home this afternoon, changed clothes, and walked to Pentoga Village and back. After spending the entire day indoors, I was ready for some physical activity.
Following several months of snow and ice, the roads are finally beginning to break up, literally. There's slush on the surface with no shortage of potholes beneath. It's an annual rite of spring that northerners throughout the ages have come to expect.
I wasn't planning on subbing Tuesday, but agreed to fill in for the elementary librarian. Poor Miss Becky has caught the creeping crud. Some are calling it the flu. I heard earlier today that there were five high school teachers absent and failing to find subs, the remaining teachers filled in during their planning periods and whenever possible.
Sargie opens the Vision Center again Tuesday morning. I'll head to Florence early to get ready for a full day of teaching technology and later in the day, being the librarian. It's a job I greatly enjoy.
Time to wrap this up and begin thinking about going to bed. Tomorrow will be another busy one in Bob Kittyland.
After all, a man's job is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Dr. Katie sent this picture from Florida earlier today. She, Ryan, and the boys, are enjoying ten days of fun in the sun. |
