Thick fog near Lake Superior on Thursday |
63 degrees/partly cloudy/windy
Pentoga Road
The wind is really blowing this morning after ushering in an inch of rain late yesterday afternoon and overnight. The temperature continued to rise while we slept and according to Carl the Weatherman, both the wind and the temperature are to diminish throughout the day.
My friend, Freddie, down in Laurel, Mississippi, sent word yesterday morning, via Mississippi Brother Garry, that I'd posted the wrong day of the week on Thursday's blog.
He thought I'd made a mistake, but did I really?
Friday's were my favorite day during all my working years. Is it possible that I decided to have two of them this week?
It's that old, "Double your pleasure, double your fun," thing. It makes perfect sense to me and fun we had.
The little Kia was pointed straight north to Marquette after Sargie's appointment yesterday. While she was doing her thing in Iron Mountain, I filled the car with gas then window shopped at the local Home Depot. That was to set the stage for Thursday's activities.
Marquette is located directly on the shores of Lake Superior and as you can see above, there was no shortage of fog and/or mist. Both big lumber yards were visited as well as a variety of other venues. Often, while Sargie shopped in one place or the other (TJ Maxx, Kohl's, Ulta Cosmetics) I ventured to nearby stores that featured more manly type wares.)
Seems when I was finished in one store, she'd text and say she was doing the same. The timing was perfect. Since I didn't have to help browse for eyeliner and other girl-stuff and she was spared from shopping for scroll saw blades or lithium grease, it worked out perfect.
We had lunch with Sargie's son, Cale, and enjoyed a good conversation. Cale's the manager of Marquette's Anytime Fitness Center.
After a couple more stops, one for groceries, we came on home.
Last night was spent watching television and doing whatever it is we do in the evenings.
I was happy that after a day of very careful walking, my foot remained pain free. I've been stretching and massaging the healing tendon and so far, so good. I may try walking an easy mile today and see how that goes.
Sargie opens this morning. I'm going to head to the shop and work on some goodies for the upcoming holiday season. I promised Sargie I'd vacuum and sweep the floors in the house, so it'll be an action packed, fun filled, day.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Suddenly, there are turkeys everywhere |
