Glazed spiral ham anyone?

September 8, 2018 - Saturday morning
38 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road

It's hard to find anything to write about when one's life consists of moving from one chair to the other. I guess I could describe play by play action of how I settle into the recliner only to hoist myself in a three step movement (have to gain some momentum, you know) and hobble over to the couch.

It's a wild life we lead here on Pentoga Road.

I did emerge from my slug like state yesterday to visit Neighbor Mike. Ol' Jambo's got some problems with one knee, but is learning to use his crutches. He, too, isn't used to inactivity and finds it difficult to remain inactive.

At one point, we were sitting side by side on the couch looking at pictures of deer when it dawned on me that we both resembled twin Jaba the Hut characters from Star Wars.

What do two old men with bum legs do? We simply laugh. There's no doubt in my mind that Neighbor Mike and I, both, will be back engaging in nonstop action sooner rather than later.

It's what we do on Pentoga Road.

I baked a good ham yesterday. It went in the oven for an hour and a half, followed by brushing glaze over and between the slices, then it went back in again for a few minutes.

I'm doing a low carb diet in an effort to lose some of this beach ball I'm carrying around my middle so meat is my main protein source. The ham is delicious.

Most of yesterday afternoon was spent with a professional ridding my computer of digital maladies that decided to call my machine home.

Hackers had robbed my IP address and it went on and on from there. Several entities from foreign lands were using my computer.

Sargie had a doctor's appointment early Friday morning then went directly to work until closing time at the Vision Center. I couldn't let my girl ride home in the dark alone after such a long day.

I drove over to Iron Mountain, met her, then turned around and we rode home together.

I'll go back and get the Blazer this morning then run an errand or two while in sin city. The yard could use mowing, but I want to wait until next week. It's tall in some places, hardly noticeable in other's. It can wait another few days.

Otherwise, it'll be a shop day. I've been working on a cat to go with my mouse. Why? I don't know. I have no fondness for either. It just seemed like something I should make.

Time to move along and get the gears greased and moving.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
