After spending six hours on the mower Friday, I had to pry my backside to separate it from the seat
September 1, 2018 - Saturday morning
66 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

We're up bright and early this morning. Sargie found out yesterday she has to work today, so my list of honey-do jobs increased exponentially.

Get back! I'm about to morph into my super hero status, today for the good. PawPaw the Claw is ready for some house cleaning action!

Hmm, where's The Flash when I need him? Seems he could swish a dust rag around here and there. On second thought, he's probably more useful at home today.

Matt sent some photos of the munchkins yesterday. All the pictures are good, but then, I'm a bit biased. When it comes to grandbabies, from Wes to Abigail and back to Hambone, our's are the best looking in the entire world.

First day of "school" for Emerson and Bennet
Poor Wes had to stay home with Mom.

Look at the size of those feet.
Sure wish they'd feed that boy before he fades away to nothing.
Friday began as wet and rainy. Never dreaming I'd be able to mow, I spent most the morning in the shop. I'm currently in the middle of several projects, but there was one I wanted to do for Sargie.

I don't always know what to give to my bride, but I really enjoy making small tokens that represent how I feel about her. Yesterday, I let my favorite characters, the Stick Men, do the talking.

To be completely corny, I ventured out to the garden and cut several types of flowers to make a bouquet.

It's unusual to be able to cut this variety of sunflowers as they are usually located fifteen feet up in the air. Since most of my blooms were blown over and lying on the ground after the latest storm, I decided to make lemonade from lemons and take advantage of the easy pickings.

The sun came out and along with it, a drying wind. Rain is forecast for today, so there was no time like the present.

It took six hours to mow and trim the yards, then mow the trails and meadows. It took most of Friday evening to remember how to walk after sitting for so long. At least it's done.

Sargie walked in the door last evening carrying a pizza. We ate like the piggies we know how to be and caught up on the day's action in front of the television.

It's time to get started on that list of honey-do jobs. First thing this morning will be to venture into town and find gloss fire engine red paint so I can touch up the railings on the deck. Watch out, PawPaw the Claw is on the loose.

After all, a man's work, and that of his alter ego super hero, is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Whether sealing the drive or mowing, it all has to done between rain showers. I dodged the wet bullet Friday afternoon.
