14 degrees/snow/calm winds
Pentoga Road
I've enjoyed looking at Mississippi Brother Garry's photos from these past several days. After receiving several inches of very rare snow late last week, he's sent some wonderful pictures of how southerners make the best out of a bad situation. In their case, they lost power for several days.

There's one big difference between the snow that fell in southern Mississippi and what we receive in the UP. The predicted high for today in Laurel, MS, is sixty-four degrees. Our's is forecast to reach into the lower twenties. If their snow hasn't melted, it soon will. Our's will still be with us until next April if not later.

I was in the shop for a good part of the day finishing one present or the other. I'm still not completely done, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Sargie worked most the day on Christmas cards. I have no idea how many we send out, but it's quite a few.
Congratulations to my grandson, Coleman, for finishing third in a large New England wrestling meet on Sunday. I'm told there were over five hundred participants and Coleman placed third in his weight division.
It was a two hour ride to southern New Hampshire from Maine where the meet was held and after wrestling in three matches, Coleman was a tired boy. Why not grab a bit of sleep on the ride home?
Sargie finally finished the Christmas cards last evening. I fiddled around on puzzles and I believe we're about ready to mail out presents and cards today. Sure will feel good to have it all out of the house.
The ice fishermen will soon be driving their trucks and cars out onto our local lake heading to their favorite fishing holes. |
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
