The sunrise that greeted us at the beginning of our drive to Indiana on Thursday morning. |
27 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Terre Haute, Indiana
We made it! After a somewhat tenuous beginning, the trip went smooth as silk.
With the temperatures below zero, there was plenty of slush on the road being thrown onto the windshield. When I tried the washers, nothing happened.
To make a long story short, we had to stop multiple times to clean the windshield by hand. Finally, we drove far enough south that the temperatures warmed. At one of our stops, I disconnected the hose and found that by either blowing or sucking on the thing I was able to free it from any obstructions.

Mom's off to Indianapolis today to a symphony concert and a day of shopping. Sargie and I are about to embark on our own shopping trip here in Terre Haute. Other than several large big box stores, there is also a large mall just three blocks away.
Time to get going. Those Christmas bargains aren't going to buy themselves!
After all, a man's work is never done.
