Pentoga Road
We should feel fortunate. Areas to the north and west of here, those closer to Lake Superior, were buried by lake effect snow during the night causing schools to close and activities to be cancelled. We received just the right amount, a dusting.
Ah, today's the big New Hampshire primary. I see the FBI just formally announced that Hillary is officially under investigation. Donald hinted that Obama might not want to defeat ISIS, Bush is beating up Rubio, Cruz is a name of the past, and Sanders wants to make America a Socialist welfare state... more than it already is. I'll be glad when November arrives and there's more to the news than dirty politics.
Onto more positive things:
Monday was productive. Arriving home from my usual walk, I fired up the propane heater in the shop and spent most the day finishing the second strawberry planter. Two down with four to go.
The compressor is too loud to have inside the shop, so the air hose is run through the door when I'm using the air nailer inside. |
With that in mind, an hour was spent cleaning and sweeping once the pyramid was moved out into the barn.
The plow was run over the drive to remove the day's accumulation of snow, about an inch. It seems like a waste of time to remove so little, but if the white stuff is allowed to accumulate, it's quickly packed down and makes the drive bumpy and slippery.
We're getting quite the array of icicles hanging from the house |
I stumbled onto a good movie on Netflix late in the afternoon, Time to Time. Created in 2009, it's a non-scary ghost story that is really interesting. I give it two thumbs up. Even the critics gave it good reviews.
Sargie arrived home late last evening, having a hair appointment after work. It was a short one for us.
She opens today. I'm going to hang around the house this morning as I'm expecting a delivery of heating oil, the first in three years. There's still half a tank, but I don't want to chance running low while we're in Mississippi next week. Other than that, it will be time to start work on planter number three and run the plow over the drive.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
