The old cemetery in Iron River
October 20, 2014 - Monday
42 degrees/partly cloudy/calm
Pentoga Road

Is it ever staying dark later these days! Two months ago, I'd have already been outside working in the garden for an hour and a half. It's still dark as pitch outside.

Sunday was cold and rainy. Simply put, it was a perfect day to watch Green Bay beat up on the Carolina Panthers.

Even Grandpa Yooper Brother Mark's five-day-old granddaughter, Izzy (Isabella, but Uncle Tom is going to call her Izzy!) was dressed and ready for Sunday's contest.
After the game, Sargie and I took our usual old-people Sunday afternoon drive. Sargie took multiple pictures of the deer grazing in the cemetary in Iron River. Hmm, I suppose somebody would object if a guy were to set up a deer blind among the headstones... probably not a good idea.

It's beginning to look more like Thanksgiving than Halloween. The trees are rapidly shedding their leaves and the smallest breeze causes a shower of yellow and brown.

This water is perfectly clear. The depth here is four to five feet.
I checked the trail cams Sunday and other than deer, the only thing of interest was this VERY fat black bear.

Poor Sargie had a tummy ache last night and didn't feel well at all. We went to bed early and thankfully, she slept well and feels much better this morning.

Sargie is back to work today. I want to finish the trim on the garage and get that wall back together. If the weather allows, I hope to begin painting the primer onto the storage shed. If not, there are assignments to grade and a nap to take.
Leaves trailing out onto the water
After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

It won't be long and we'll be looking at ice rather than open water.
