This is delivery week when all the good little munchkins get their Halloween pumpkins.

Pentoga Road

Other than a burp in weather on Thursday, the foreseeable outlook is for sunshine and seasonable temperatures. Mmm, it's been so long since we've seen the sun for two days in a row. Maybe this is the week.

I had just walked in the house and saw something move out of the corner of my eye. This young doe must have already been in the yard while I was painting the storage shed. Those are my strawberry plants she's thinking about dining on.
I didn't let the mist and chilly temperatures dampen my parade on Monday. The trim needed to be finished at the bottom of the garage door. It took a while, but new pieces were cut and primed, then used to replace the old rotted sections. I wanted to redo all the trim this past summer, but ran out of time. Put that on the future warm weather chore list.

While working, I saw where the water has been standing and why I'm battling the rot on the bottom of the studs. I went to town and purchased a bag of Sakrete, mixed some, and filled in a naturally low place. Hopefully, this will help the melt water of next spring flow under the door and out onto the drive.

I turned my attentions to the storage shed. It wasn't a very good painting day, but I didn't want to simply sit inside and do nothing. I thought that possibly, I could get one end covered with primer.

It was slow going. The OSB (particle board) soaked up the primer like a dry sponge does water. I tried rolling it on, but broke the roller, so in the end, I used a brush.

It looked pretty good. Why not do the other end?

I was on a roll. The day was cruddy, I was covered with paint... might as well start on the back.

I finished the first gallon of primer and decided to call it a day. The sides are more than half covered and I should finish today.

We watched Dancing With the Stars last night and called it a day. As there were last minute patients, Sargie didn't get home as early as we'd hoped, but since she opens this morning, we ought to have a full evening together tonight.

I'm going to finish applying the primer and call that job complete for the year. I plan to paint the barn and the shed next spring. What color? Why, barn red of course! There's something about a powder blue barn that doesn't do it for me.

Yooper Brother Mark is coming out later today to help haul some things from Sargie's old storage unit that have been sold. It will be good to get them out of the garage.

Meanwhile, there's coffee to sip and deep thoughts to think. After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Where was my watch dog that is supposed to keep the deer out of the yard? He was sound asleep, of course.
