July 18, 2021 - Sunday morning
65 degrees/rain/calm winds
Stratham, New Hampshire

A short one this morning just to let those who are wondering know that we made it to Matt and Jessica's. Our trip east was filled with miles and miles of traffic, but fortunately, we moved right along and arrived as planned Friday afternoon.

Since, it's been a whirlwind of talking, swimming, laughing with a bit of hiking thrown in for good measure.

We'll be here yet today before heading back to Pentoga Road beginning Monday morning. Seems unlike their father and his bride, my sons all work. Some of the grandchildren are employed in summer jobs while a couple of the younger ones head to camp.

It's a busy time in the Pennington family, very busy.

We've assured all that we'll return at some point this fall once Andy's back in the states and we can do it all over again.

Luke is an excellent cook. With Sargie standing close by and occasionally assisting, our fire captain, a born pyromaniac, smoked queso and ribs that were the best any of us have ever eaten.

So with that, I'll let a few pictures tell the story. No doubt, you'll see many more in the future.

I hear footsteps overhead which means our world is awakening. Our time here may be short, but like the past day and a half, it's been quality, pure quality. I don't want to waste a second.

He may be a retired Commander of the US Coast Guard, but Josh still enjoys roasting a good marshmallow. We were laughing at how small his stick is.

Sitting hundreds of feet up in a fire tower, Grandpa's telling tales of adventures long ago.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Stratham, New Hampshire...
