A good Disney movie
The best kiddy entertainment on a dreary, chilly, day.

July 18, 2021 - Sunday night
66 degrees/rain/calm winds
Stratham, New Hampshire

As difficult as it is to believe, our magical Pennington weekend is about over. With that in mind, I thought I'd better write tonight as Sargie and I will be out of here first thing in the morning.

Sunday was just as fun as the day before. The day started with a definite Pennington breakfast. Three year old, Wes, helped his mama mix up the pancake batter.

From there on, the breakfast duties were turned over to Uncle Luke who made pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns on his huge gas griddle. He was assisted by Emerson who learned how to flip the golden cakes.

Needless to say, no one went hungry.

With the young ones watching a movie, the rest of us migrated to the garage and outdoors between rain showers.

Matt has been plagued by an electrical short in the garage. What better time to tackle the problem than when his brothers are around? The three worked on the wiring and various outlets for most the morning and well into the afternoon.

Eventually, the problem was solved with no one being electrocuted.

Once again, Luke performed his culinary magic and grilled jumbo shrimp. As many as there were, not a one was left by the time everyone had eaten his fill.

Everyone departed for home late in the afternoon. Oldest granddaughter, Abigail has to work, grandson Coleman has football tomorrow. Ellie, Wyatt, and Cody, will be off to summer outdoor day camp. All the grandbabies are busy, just the way it ought to be.

Matt, Jess, the kiddies, Sargie, and I, watched the movie The Greatest Showman tonight. Matt and Emerson showed their choreography skills and performed a dance to one of the songs. It was the perfect grand finale to a perfect weekend.

Sargie and I are going to take a round about way home, at least to begin our journey, by driving north to North Conway, New Hampshire, across the White Mountains and part of the Presidential Range. I'll be hiking through the heart of them next year as I get closer to the end of the Appalachian Trail in central Maine.

While in North Conway, we'll stop by REI so I can be fitted for a pack and ask a million questions. If the folks who are located directly on the AT can't answer what I need to know, then no one can.

ETA for arrival back on Pentoga Road this week? Who knows? I'm guessing it'll be Wednesday, quite possibly Thursday.

Hmm, how about when we get there?

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Stratham, New Hampshire...

Neither rain nor cold temperatures dissuaded Ben, Em, or Matt, from enjoying a spur of the moment dip in the pool.
