After a long winter, it was nice to see open water rather than ice.
Several days of rainy weather were in the forecast. With that in mind, Sargie said she'd pull the lawn sweeper over the yard. I'd follow, applying Weed n Feed.My bride asked if I'd mind raking the leaves from the bushes surrounding the back deck.
Sure. Why not? I could do that before beginning work in the shop. Sargie picked up a rake and headed to the flower bed in front of the house.
We quickly fell into a rhythm of raking, gathering, and carting load after load of needles, sticks, and other debris, a hundred yards away to the edge of the woods.
While I was dumping needles, Sargie continued to rake everything into the next pile, ready to be loaded.
We were about all done in when Sparky came along with Neighbor Dean in tow. Both gave us a very welcome break.
I'd planned on being the first into the pond this spring, but Sparky beat me to it. Walking daily, the garden pond is a regular cooling off place for the friendly golden lab.
I followed behind pushing the applicator.
After showers and a quick bite to eat, there were two tired kids who fell into bed last night on Pentoga Road.
It's raining and chilly outside. I'm going for a quick walk before heading to the shop. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING, can stand in my way. Cheeks' sign has to be finished by a week from today.
Well, that is, unless Sargie wants to take a Sunday afternoon ride. Now that would be tempting.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
