While in town, I stopped by the small engine repair shop. After hearing the symptoms, the owner suggested that, after thousand of hours of use, the valves might need adjusting.
The rest of the day was spent assembling the new workbench.
Naturally, it came in a few million parts complete with iffy instructions.
Sargie and I worked side by side the entire time as it took both of us to build the thing. One would hold a part while the other fastened. We tag teamed until the bench was complete.
I had one oops moment. A wooden drawer handle was cracked and I decided to fix it with CA glue, a quick-fix super glue adhesive.
It worked well, especially when I tried moving my index finger and found it and the handle had become one.
Using a sharp knife, I finally separated the finger from the handle, but not before I left a goodly amount of skin behind.
With the exception of installing a set of drawer slides, the workbench is finished.
Yooper Brother Mark, back from frolicking in the sun and surf of Myrtle Beach, will be out first thing in the morning for our usual Friday morning walk. I'm hoping the engine will be ready tomorrow or at least on Saturday. If that's the case, I'll be putting the backhoe back together. Otherwise, there are trees to trim in the yard, a new raised bed to build in the garden, and a shop to arrange.I'm not worried about getting bored, that's for sure.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
