Photo by Sargie: Taken from the front passenger side window, off the outside rearview mirror, and reflecting from the rear passenger side window of oncoming rain clouds

September 22, 2020 - Tuesday morning
50 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road

The fingers are flying over the keys this morning as I'd like to be on the lake shortly after sunrise. It's clear and calm, warm, and it's prime fishing season. Since we didn't have the opportunity to fish this summer, we'd like to put some filets in the freezer while the opportunity is upon us.

Let's see, what pictures do I have...

In family photos, Shea sent one of him and Makenna. Shea said they put her to bed around 11 PM and she doesn't wake until almost 7 the next morning. Not bad for a little girl who, until a week ago, still sported a feeding tube.

I have a few more of grandson, Coleman, who turned fourteen yesterday, that are quite humorous. I'll feature those by themselves. Also pictures of Wyatt and Cody that will be on soon.

While waiting for Sargie to get ready for our drive to Green Bay Monday morning, I emptied the dehydrator of apple slices. We currently have six or seven air tight bags filled.

Each slice is rolled in cinnamon and sugar making for an almost apple pie-like taste. In fact, we enjoyed a few hot slices that were only partially dehydrated and still soft the other night over vanilla ice cream and it was just like eating an apple pie without the crust.

Sargie and I began shopping in Green Bay Monday morning around noon and it was almost 7 last night before we arrived back on Pentoga Road. It was a full day of scrambling from one store to the other.

I continue to be shocked at how many Christmas goodies are already on display. Yesterday must have been the official kick off for the various retail stores to change from summer decor to that of Christmas as almost every one had clerks replacing one display for that of a holiday theme.

After all, isn't Christmas all about the money? (said Tom, tongue in cheek.)

We passed the restaurant, Five Guys and a Burger, one which we didn't even know existed in Green Bay. I made an immediate about face and it didn't take much convincing to ourselves that we deserved a carbohydrate and fat laden lunch.

Sargie Pants and Tommy P waddled out forty five minutes later happy and stuffed to the gills.

Though the day was perfect in Green Bay, we drove through a few light showers coming home. At least the temperatures have remained warm and as mentioned above, today is clear and calm.

I took the opportunity to play with a few camera settings and photograph the solar lights around the pond after dark last night.

The tiles (that look more like bathroom scales) remain lighted through the night.

The following was taken after dark with the aperture settings wide open and the shutter speed almost nonexistent.

At any rate, we'll be bringing the tiles in for the winter months fairly soon, certainly before snow falls.

OK, time to head to the lake. I want to work in the garden house today, no doubt we'll take a ride and look at leaves, and Sargie wants to go fishing.

It promises to be a busy one.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
