Pentoga Road
I wrote Wednesday evening and forgot to push the enter button. Should you have missed it, it's directly beneath tonight's entry.
Tim and I took an early Thursday morning walk. At 6 AM, the mist was hanging across the road in Jambo's field and made everything look magical. It's my favorite time of the day.
Tim and I walked nine miles and I was home by mid morning. We had a good gab session and the miles went by quickly.
Tim, Sam, and TJ, stopped by later in the morning to borrow the eight kayaks. The family spent the day on the Brule River.
The rest of the day was a busy one for Sargie and me. Sargie finished painting the rail on the front porch. I didn't realize it had grown dingy until she began applying a fresh coat of white paint.
Since she was busy, I volunteered to mow the yard, the meadows, and the trails.
We both finished early tonight and were ready to call it a day.
I drove over to the check on kids, Tim and family, to make sure they made it safely down the Brule. As I told them, it's the dad in me.
After a sixteen mile paddle in the bright sun, the family was relaxing outside, talking, and enjoying each other's company.
I've got about ten things I'd like to accomplish Friday. The grill needs to be cleaned. The perforated plex pipes that are exposed in the pond have to be rewrapped to ensure the pump draws water through the gravel filters.
Sargie's niece is having an aunt/uncle gathering at her lake home Friday afternoon. Sargie's going. I'm still trying to decide.
Time to get this uploaded.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
