My grandson, Cody, is now an actor and plays a part
on the latest program of PBS Kids. That's him as a pollywog.

Pentoga Road
I think ol' Cody is on his way to having a star on the walk in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. PBS's newest star is a happy, bubbly, and talented little guy.
He's also shy, just like his Grandpa.
Holy cow, what a storm! The rain is pouring from the sky and the lightning is dancing overhead causing continual, rolling, thunder.
Hmm, maybe I could write the lyrics to a secular song and call it, How Great Thou Art... rolling thunder and all.
Oh, wait, that's already been done. Never mind. Scratch that deep thought.
Returning home from my usual walk on Friday morning, I installed the last three corbels on the east side of the garden house.
Other than the cupola, weather vane, and front stoop, the big construction is finished. No doubt, I'll be piddling around on the garden house and pond for years to come, but for the most part, it's done.
Grandma Sargie and Hambone spent much of the day in the shop where birthday gifts for Mama and Daddy were created.
I haven't seen so much hot glue attached to popsicle sticks fly around in years.
Paint? Let's put it this way. The bottles in the paint cabinet were fully utilized.
Glad he didn't bite his tongue off |
Mama and Daddy were certainly surprised and happy to receive their gifts last night when we met them for the Hambone exchange.
Grady will be with us again for a few days next week while his parents work from home.
I was busy yesterday afternoon mowing the back trails. With all the other ongoing projects, I hadn't touched them yet this summer.

It appears the bear population on Pentoga Road is quite healthy. I ran over several piles of "evidence", this one from a yearling.
In news from elsewhere, Mississippi Brother Garry has had the roofs replaced on his barn and house following the large hail storm that wreaked havoc in the Laurel area early last spring. He's also been busy rebuilding the roof over the shed where he keeps his fifth wheel trailer. The last I heard, that job was almost finished.
The new metal roof for the barn was finished last week |
I think today will be a shop day. With sporadic storms in the forecast and the ground completely saturated, it will be too wet to do anything outside. There are half completed puzzles for the grandbabies sitting on the table and a large bowl still in the lathe that is almost finished.
Failing that, I may just plop in my recliner and think deep thoughts from behind closed eyelids.
Another wild flower alongside Pentoga Road |
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Garden shed looks GREAT.
ReplyDeleteThanks Freddie! I hope you are getting around better. Heard that you've been laid up. Now, that's no good. You take care and we'll talk one of these days.
