Oh yeah, it was singalong time at Florence Elementary on Tuesday afternoon |

That's right. You read it correctly. If you weren't at the home of the bob kitties yesterday afternoon, you missed such all time hits as Bah Bah Blacksheep, Mary had a Little Lamb, A,B,C (not to be mistaken with the Jackson Five hit) or any of the other more popular songs in the lower elementary grades.
Oh well, sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a grown up.
Tuesday was a good one. My nine munchkins were just as good as they could be and we sailed through the morning subjects, spelling, math, and science.
Having some leftover time in the day, we decided to invite the other grades, pre k through 2, for a half hour, afternoon, songfest.
I had playground duty on Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We played on the swings, the tires, and yes, at the invitation of a few first graders, completed the outdoor Ninja Warrior course. I swung from bar to bar with my feet firmly planted on the ground, which made it more like walking, but I still completed it.
One munchkin remarked that I was cheating, but another, more sensitive soul, said, "Shh, Mr. P's really old so that's okay."
I appreciated that they cut the old man a little slack.
My fellow teachers gave me a beautiful present yesterday afternoon in honor of Mom. It was a gorgeous set of wind chimes along with a card saying they hoped each time I heard the chimes, that I'd remember all the good memories of Mom and to know that she will always be right beside me.
I didn't open the card or chimes until I arrived home which was a good thing or I'd have flooded the school with tears. What sweethearts. I love them all and proud to call each a member of my extended family.
The wind chimes will be hung under the garden house eave in an area where I spend the majority of the summer months. Mom loved the garden and with the chimes gently ringing in the breeze, we'll continue to have our wonderful conversations.
Poor Dad. He won't be able to get a word in edgewise.
Sargie's still coughing a bit, but seems to be feeling much better. She toughed out work yesterday, but was happy to flop in her big chair last night covered with a blanket. I believe she's going to make it.
I'm going to build a fire in the outdoor wood furnace then go for a nice walk after. I'd like to work in the shop for a few hours today. I think Sargie will continue to rest and help rid her body of whatever bug she has.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
