January 14, 2020 - Tuesday
27 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

Once again, it's a quick one. I'm off to the world of first grade munchkins in just a few minutes.

Yesterday was a good one, but I was sure tired when I got home. Chasing after a handful of first graders seems to require more energy as the years go by.

The kiddies were good as they could be and I  enjoy filling in for their regular teacher. With that being said, I'm glad this is my last day of subbing for the month. Barring an emergency, I'm not planning to do many more sub jobs this year. I guess I'm spoiled, but with Sargie home so much more, I'd much rather be with her than surrounded by energized little people.

I had to laugh yesterday. I was at the board explaining sums and parts of simple addition... kind of a pre equation type thing. We were taking an animal cracker pause when it occurred to me that ten years ago, I was lecturing post graduate students and now, explaining abstract addition with first graders. Amazing how life goes full circle, eh?

I guess we're in for a pretty good winter storm beginning on Friday night and continuing into Saturday. I hope it holds off a bit as I have a root canal scheduled for Friday morning in Marquette. I'd like to get off these antibiotics that are keeping the pain and infection at bay.

Sargie's working today and I'm heading in the opposite direction to do the same. No doubt, we'll meet at home tonight, grateful that our lives will be much quieter on Wednesday.

After all, a man's work and that of his bride, is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
