December 1, 2019 - Sunday evening
25 degrees/cloudy/breezy
Pentoga Road

Unless one's into snow, there's not much to talk about this evening. Over a foot had fallen by the time the storm had ended mid afternoon. Coupled with last Wednesday's storm, there's anywhere from 18 inches to two feet on the ground, way too much for this early in the year.

The majority of the day was spent plowing either our drive or Jambo's.

Actually, it seems half of that time was consumed with digging the four wheeler out of deep snow.

The ATV is good about not getting stuck, but when it does, it takes an act of Congress to get it out and the way the current Congress behaves, that's almost an impossibility. Often, I simply use the Blazer and a tow strap to free it from the deep snow.

I wanted to use the Tundra snowmobile to go up to Jambo's and plow his drive and camp yard. Only one problem, it was buried, almost completely covered by snow.

It took some doing, but both Mike's drive, yard, and our drive, were plowed by day's end. We're clean of snow and ready for the next storm.

If I had the time, I'd begin cleaning the snow off the roofs of the different buildings. Thankfully, with a metal roof, some will slide off the steeper pitches as soon as the temperatures warm above freezing. It's those with shallower angles that I worry about.

Sargie spent much of this afternoon setting up our Christmas village. Once again, it's one of those things that reminds us of Mom. She gave us the original village that Aunt Ila made years ago. Since then, we've more than doubled its size and Mom delighted in pausing to look at it often during her holiday visits.

This will be my last entry for a few days. We'll take off fairly early Monday morning and are uncertain when we'll return, probably the middle to end of this coming week. If I have the time or will, I'll make a quick entry from Indiana.

I'd just cleaned the snow from both satellite dishes
So with that, I'll end with Mom's official obituary. Again, thank you for all your love, support, and words of encouragement as Sargie and I and the rest of our family say farewell to one of the greatest women who ever lived.

Until next time...
