In the teachers lounge. One of the teachers said she'd bring donuts for the rest. She didn't exactly lie. |
November 12, 2019 - Tuesday morning
2 below zero/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road
We dipped below zero for the first time this year and I imagine it will go lower before the sun rises. Carl said last night that the normal high for yesterday was 40 ABOVE, but with the thermometer only reaching a paltry 17 degrees, we set a record for the coldest high.
Don't even talk to me about global warming, Al. I'm not in the mood.
Meanwhile, onto family matters:
Isn't Aria a cutie pie? Sasha and Alex sure have a pretty baby.
Andy's back in Africa drilling for oil. Matt and Jessica were in Munich, Germany, on business while Andy had a layover in Frankfurt on Sunday. Sure is a small world.
They've come a long ways from their childhood days in the woods of northern Maine.
Monday was a good one, well, up until noon that is. I had just commented to Holly, the secretary, about how quiet the day had been, when two boys were hauled into the office for fighting. After came a couple of littles that needed straightening out, and a boy who fell asleep in class and refused to wake up.
I woke him, believe me.
The high point of the day was a visit by Pete the Cat.
Pete is a fictional character written about in several of the kiddies' books.
Of course, they were thrilled when the oversized feline walked into the room.
Monday flew by and I was soon on my way home. My next sub job is on Thursday when I'll be the computer/librarian. It's my favorite non principal sub job.
Sargie works today. I'm going to try to finish the chipmunk and move onto something new. There are a couple of errands that need to be attended to in town and of course, there'll be the mandatory after-lunch Grandpa nap.
Don't laugh. It's written somewhere in the Grandpa Handbook to Better Living.
After all, a grandpa's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
