October 6, 2019 - Sunday evening
50 degrees/cloudy skies/windy
Pentoga Road
I decided to write tonight as I'll be at school bright and early Monday morning to introduce the new Dean of Students to the teachers and faculty. Other than a few other boring items, I hope that will be my last duty as the former kindergarten cop.
Sunday was a Jack of All Trades type of day. Mine began outside doing several small jobs that have been delayed. The sun was bright and the temperature rising. It was the perfect early fall day.
Why the small apple tree is fenced in the back yard. |
Sargie got on the rider late Sunday morning and spent several hours making our yard look like a golf course.
I loaded a piece of particle board and tools on the blue four wheeler and took off for the garden house.
I've been working overhead covering the underside of the fascia. It's tiring to climb up and down the ladder, measure, then measure again, sawing, holding the piece with one hand while screwing with the other.
The four wheeler also serves as a mobile saw horse. |
My arms grew tired of working overhead and I was getting sloppy. It was time to quit. Sargie and I decided to take our usual afternoon ride.
We enjoyed driving and looking at the fall colors.
With all the recent heavy rains, the dock is almost under water. |
A big congratulations goes out to Sheri and Yooper Brother Mark for participating in and finishing last Saturday's 5K event in Iron River.
Both joined the local gym last year and regularly go to exercise sessions several times a week. Mark and I have even talked about taking a long hike next summer.
Sargie and I watched the Packers win over the Dallas Cowboys and have had a quiet evening eating popcorn and watching tv.
The weather forecast is favorable for this coming week and I hope to begin playing catch up. With cold weather and snow predicted a week from today, I need to get a lot done in the what time is left.
So that's the news from this end for tonight. Time to settle back and relax until bedtime.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
