My granddaughter, Ellie, a middle school student, sent me a picture of her latest painting.

Pentoga Road

What a talent, eh? Ellie painted a piece two years ago that is permanently displayed in their hometown library in Connecticut.

She's not only gifted artistically, but also plays a mean flute. I'm proud of my grandbaby!

I was home early this afternoon after handing over the reins to the new Dean of Students. We walked through the day, talked of various students, and even had a mommy/daddy conference. I think Dan's going to do just fine.

Sargie was busy today working outside and finished mowing.

With all the recent rainfall, everything is either dark green or brilliant red, orange, or yellow.

I changed clothes as soon as I arrived home and was soon working on the underside of the garden house overhang.

With Sargie's help, I finished and will begin trimming out the windows Tuesday afternoon. It's coming, slowly, but surely.

Sargie works at the eye clinic in Crystal Falls tomorrow. I'll be back at the elementary school as a substitute teacher in second grade.  It'll seem strange to walk in as a teacher, responsible for only one classroom rather than an entire school.

The weather is to be good for the next few days. There's so much to do and so little time to do it. I'll pick up the trailer filled with firewood tomorrow at Yooper Brother Mark's plant and will be working that up this week when I'm not working on the garden shed. I'm hoping Sargie and I can also get a load of gravel on Friday.

It's going to be a busy week.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
