Lunchtime for the teachers at Florence Elementary |
56 degrees/rain/windy
Pentoga Road
It's another short one tonight. I'm tired and honestly, I was so busy today that I never thought about taking the camera from my pocket.
The meet and greet went well today. I shook the hands of many mommies and daddies and was on the receiving end of multiple hugs from students that I had in class last year.
Tuesday was a good day to be the principal.
I received the exciting news today that there are several applicants for the principal's position. The superintendent said one, in particular, looks promising. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I enjoy being the interim principal, but honestly, by the end of the day, I'm about all done in. It won't make me sad to go back to the occasional substitute teaching job and leave the administration to someone younger.
In other words, I'll be happy to return to being retired for a living. I do that really well.
As winter draws closer, I'm reminded of what needs to be done before cold weather and snow set in. I'm not in a panic, but will be happy when I can have a few days at home to call my own.
Sargie had a good day at the eye clinic and is becoming more comfortable with the new (to her) software and computer system. She loves her coworkers and both doctors she works with.
In weather news, a huge storm came marching through during the early morning hours of Tuesday. The rain gauge registered over two and a half inches earlier and it's rained more since. Any evidence of the brief drought that occurred earlier this summer is long gone.
The Bobkitties pour in tomorrow morning for their first day of classes. I'll be out front of the school greeting all as they step off the school buses to begin their new school year.
After all, a man's work is ever done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
