Sargie's so excited to be getting new living room windows. She's pictured with Leslie, the owner of Budget Windows out of Marquette, Michigan. |

I'm sitting across the room from one very happy girl this evening. It's official, Sargie's getting her new windows!
Leslie arrived from Marquette at mid morning and spent the next hour measuring and filling out the final contract for nine windows.
We decided to go ahead and replace the small octagon window in the stair well that leaks air like water going through a sieve. A double hung, triple pained unit, complete with a screen and able to be cleaned from inside, will adorn our stair well.
Sargie and I exchanged Valentine's gifts this morning. She gave me a beautiful set of turning tools, chisels that will make working with wood on the lathe much easier. Sargie received a bouquet of flowers and a basket of lotions, candy, and various goat milk soaps.
We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day by taking a drive to Rhinelander. There was nothing we needed, but somehow, we came home with several bags of goodies. It was a fun day filled with window shopping and lots of gabbing.
We received some disturbing news earlier today from Yooper Brother Mark. There was a fire early this morning at Mark's plant that did some major damage. That alone is bad enough, but to make matters worse, Mark and Sheri were to leave for Las Vegas today on vacation. While there, they were to meet Sarah and Isabella and have some quality Grandma/Grandpa time. Their vacation, plane tickets, car and hotel reservations, have all been put on hold.
Sargie opens the Vision Center Friday morning. I need to do some plowing, both here and at Jambo's. After, it'll be back to the shop. I have a brand new set of turning chisels just waiting to be used.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Check out that hairdo on the gal on the right. With the exception of that pigtail sticking out of the top of her head, the rest of her hair is shaved. Mmm, pretty. |
