Pentoga Road
Since I'll be riding over to Iron Mountain in the morning with Sargie, I thought I'd better write and get today's pictures uploaded this evening.
Today began on our local lake. More importantly, my first cast produced a nice crappie with good fishing continuing nonstop for the next hour and a half.
I could have qualified for a second Master Angler certificate this morning. A tiny jig was cast and let settle towards the bottom, when, as Dad used to say, "All hell broke loose."
The fifteen inch crappie put up quite a fight, but he eventually grew exhausted and I was able to slip a hand under the fish and lift it into the boat.
Just as with Thursday evening, a basket full of crappies was brought home. The next hour was spent cleaning fish.
I traveled to Iron Mountain late this afternoon to meet Sargie after work and go to Hambone's for the evening.
Cale, Macrea, and I, worked for a while pulling out stumps of old bushes from in front of the house.

All but one were removed before the tow strap broke for good. I told Macrea I'd stop by in the morning with the Blazer and a long logging chain. We'll get that last stump out yet.

After a supper of delicious chili followed by quality family time, Sargie and I headed to Pentoga Road. She opens tomorrow and I'll be riding back with her.
I hope to spend most of Saturday in the shop. I'm excited about my current project and am anxious to continue.
Neighbor Mike is down to the camp and I caught word that his boys were coming to put up firewood. No doubt, I'll end up over there helping supervise.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

The big crappie seemed to favor little bluegills and crayfish. I found both in its stomach. |

I remember back when it used to be "A boy and his dog." |
