Pentoga Road
Yooper Brother Mark, Sheri, Sarah, Curtis, Isabella, Jerad, and Jenna, all left this morning for three days of swimming and playing in Wisconsin Dells. Isabella and her parents will be leaving bright and early Sunday morning for Wyoming. Summer is quickly coming to a close.
It's been a quiet one on Pentoga Road today. I started the day with a quick walk to Pentoga Village and back. I'm amazed how quickly the leaves are beginning to turn. It's definitely looking like the end of summer is quickly approaching.
The wild plums in Pentoga Village aren't as plentiful as usual. Still, there are several small trees that are loaded.
Sargie and I took our usual drive this afternoon and picked up the Kia from the mechanic's. With new struts, it drives much better and is definitely quieter when traveling on a rough road.
A load of hay bales bound for out of state |
Sargie and I began mowing as soon as we arrived home. With the recent rains, the yard definitely needed it.
I trimmed using the push mower then moved onto working in the garden. Everything is growing like weeds, including the weeds.
On the other side of the garden, there are spaghetti squash hidden all over under the leaves.
It's going to be interesting in a few weeks to see what fruits will be discovered. It's like an Easter egg hunt every fall.
The white luna pumpkins are spreading to the north side of the garden. |
Though it has a yellowish hue, this is a rare "white" sunflower. |
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
