Grandbabies Wes and Em
June 4, 2018 - Monday evening

Pentoga Road

Matt sent some pictures of the munchkins a few days ago. It's heartening to see the grandchildren so happy and doing so well.

Ben, Wes, and Em
Ah, paybacks. Josh sent a photo where he's rescuing a bass lure tossed into a tree by my granddaughter Ellie.

I rescued more than a few when Josh and his brothers were that age.

Monday began by spreading the shavings gotten on Sunday in the paths of the garden.

Last year's flood had washed away more than half of what was originally there.

I rode with Sargie several miles down the road and walked home. Heading into a very strong wind made the trek invigorating to say the least.

I decided to drive to Yooper Brother Mark's plant for another load of shavings. Those were spread immediately once I arrived home.

I think I'll try to get another load or two in the near future to finish all the aisles. That'll be a good job to have finished.

The garden pond isn't looking very pretty. The normally clear water has turned a yellowish brown color. I've changed the filters daily, but I'm convinced as long as the thousands of tadpoles are present, the water will stay cloudy.

Hopefully they'll sprout arms and legs sooner rather than later. Once they leave I think the water will clear up.

Neighbor Mike and Germaine arrived at their camp this afternoon. We spent some time catching up on the happenings of the past two weeks and made plans to go fishing tomorrow after I arrive home from a dentist's appointment.

My small DeWalt air compressor that I use often quit working yesterday. As luck would have it, it's two months out of warrantee. Knowing that, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

After taking the motor from the air tank, I found two wires that were hanging loose inside.

Once they were hooked back up, the motor roared to life. I not certain how they came loose, but I'm grateful to find the source of the problem.

I was so tired this evening that I decided to wait until tomorrow to reassemble the compressor.

Sargie didn't arrive home this evening until well past 9. She opens tomorrow morning.

I have an 8 AM dentist's appointment to have a tooth prepared for a crown. It's something I'm not really looking forward to.

Neighbor Mike and I are planning to go fishing as soon as I'm back from the dentist's. Other than that and putting the air compressor back together, I'll make another attempt at cutting out the rest of the letters in the shop... or, I might mow the lawn... or, I might continue my never ending quest to solve the mysteries of perpetual motion, fission, and fusion... or, I may just take a nice afternoon nap.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

More fresh asparagus was cut today
