Nature grows a beautiful garden. Our woods are filled with trilliums as far as the eye can see. |

Andy sent a few pictures of my granddaughter, Ivy. She's sure a cutie pie.
Check out the dandelion tucked behind her right ear. Pretty Ivy obviously has great taste!
Today was a busy one. The lawn, meadows, and trails needed mowing. Since the last rain, the grass has shifted into overdrive. First, some simple preventative maintenance needed to be done on the trim mower.
Whoever heard of having to flip a mower upside down to drain the oil?
Some engineer was paid way too much to design an engine that can only be serviced by having the oil drain from the top side.
Removing and sharpening the blade was next.
Thankfully, it was in fairly good shape and should work well for at least another mowing season.
After an additional adjustment or two, the mower was ready.
The next four hours were spent either trimming or mowing the yard, side yards, trails, or meadows. Thankfully, that job is done for another week.
I began working on the Memorial Day piece this afternoon. So far, so good.
The two-piece pattern was outlined and mounted and later, I began working at the scroll saw.
Three more pieces were glued and clamped to laminate this afternoon. They should be ready to begin sawing Thursday.
Sargie arrived home early this afternoon. We made a quick trip to town then returned to plant more flowers and water the garden and flower boxes and pots.
Sargie works early Thursday morning. With thunderstorms forecast for the next three days, (hopefully bringing some significant rainfall with them) I plan to spend most of that time in the shop.
Even simple dandelions can paint a pretty picture |
Yooper Brother Mark sent a text saying the trailer is filled with wood at the plant. I'll try to sneak into town sometime in the morning and bring it home. If I get tired of working in the shop, I'll begin to work up the next load of firewood.
Sargie's sitting at the other end of the garden thinking, contemplating, and no doubt, pondering deep thoughts. |
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
