We added a new outside angel to our outdoor Christmas decor on the porch Sunday afternoon |

Poor Sargie's back to work this morning after her week's vacation. Darn it. We're hoping that she'll be able to cut back to working four days a week fairly soon.
Sunday was a lazy catch-all day. I was up extra early ensuring the house would be warm before Mom was up for the day. As it turned out, I needn't have worried. Mom said she slept well and was quite comfortable.
I cleared the drive and brought in wood in the morning before turning my attentions to helping Sargie assemble the angel we purchased while in Indiana.
I really wanted to place the angel in the yard, but the ground is frozen solid enough that I couldn't drive in stakes of any size used to anchor it. Consequently, the angel's home for this year is on the porch.
We took our afternoon drive to town and enjoyed the beautiful hoar frost that adorned the trees.
After stopping for Cokes then making our way to the deli for a box of fried chicken, we returned home to enjoy an afternoon of eating and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.
Sargie multitasked and spent a good part of the day wrapping Christmas presents.
I tried to start Mom's car yesterday afternoon and found the battery completely dead. Seems that we turned on an interior light while unloading the car Saturday night and forgot to turn it off. Even after charging the battery, it was still dead.
I disconnected it completely from the car and left it on the charger all night. I'll check in a while and keep my fingers crossed. If it fails to hold a charge, I'll have to get a new one.
We watched the Sound of Music last evening. I've probably watched it thirty times over the past forty years, but it's still one of my favorite musicals, only to be topped by The Music Man.
"... We've got troubles, right here in River City!
That starts with T and rhymes with P and that stands for POOL!"
Sargie closes tonight and doesn't have to be to the Vision Center until noon. I plan to go for my walk then hang out with Mom. No doubt, I'll find my way to the shop, then there's always the battery to deal with.
Sargie's wanted a tin chicken for over a year, so I gave her one for her birthday. Mom had to give it the close up once-over. |
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
