My favorite part of playing Santa? THE HUGS |

Pentoga Road
Thursday was a catch all day on Pentoga Road. I felt like Santa in his workshop in the morning and ended the day by playing Saint Nick. Needless to say, this old guy is full of the Christmas spirit tonight.
The majority of Thursday morning was spent finishing Miss Snow Lady and cutting out two more puzzles.
The shop was cold. Lord was it cold! Not wanting to wait an hour or two for it to warm up, I simply put the heater by my chair and began working.
I walked in the house a couple of hours later and saw something run across the dining room floor. This old cat leapt into action by getting on his hands and knees and crawling a vole down to his death.
The tiny mouse/shrew critter was an evasive little bugger, but I was finally able to grab him. The rodent won't be running across our floor any longer.
We enjoyed our usual afternoon drive by first going to the grocery store and later, driving to some area lakes to check on the ice conditions.
We had previously discovered a strand of lights not workimg on our Christmas tree a couple of days ago. That being said, Sargie brought home a new toy... 'er tool.
Rather than try to find a bad bulb in the string, this machine either fixes the problem by plugging in any light or if that doesn't work, the unit beeps until the faulty bulb is found then goes silent.
It sounds strange and almost too good to be true, but it worked.
Sargie is putting a few ornaments back on the tree after we had to move them to trace the string of lights. |
It took both Sheri and Sargie to get me dressed. There were parts and pieces that I didn't know what to do with.
Even the fat suit required a bit of expertise. |
It finally came together. I not only looked like, but I felt like Santa.
Scout leader, Yooper Brother Mark, conducted their meeting while I waited in the wings. He has quite the bunch of active scouts. Awards and prizes were handed out for popcorn sales along with other recognitions.
The meeting finally wound down.
It was showtime for Santa.
I loved the hugs from the big and little munchkins alike. All told me what they wanted for Christmas and most said they'd been good the entire year.
As with all good things, the long line of kiddies came to an end. With a HO HO HO, I exited the room to climb onto the roof and zoom back to the North Pole in my sleigh with Rudolph leading the way.
Sargie opens this morning. I'm going for my usual walk then will try to finish the last of the puzzles today. Sargie began wrapping and boxing some of the gifts I've been making in hopes of getting them in the mail sooner rather than later.
It's back to the workshop for this Santa and time to get moving.
I had to sit somewhere to put on my boots |
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
