Sargie and Michelle at the Vision Center on Thursday morning |

November 3rd will always stick in my mind. It's the anniversary of the day, back in 1964, that my hero, Barry Goldwater, was defeated by Lyndon Johnson for the presidency. Dad's been gone a number of years, but I'd bet he's still in mourning.
It's a drive-by writing today. I have a dentist's appointment at 8 AM, just over an hour from now.
Thursday dawned white and wet.
Thankfully, the snow melted during the day and as of last night, the ground was once again bare. I see there's a winter weather advisory out for this afternoon through Saturday morning with the possibility of more snow in the forecast.
I made it back from Iron Mountain in good shape yesterday, enjoying Halloween candy as I drove. One thing I learned... NEVER eat Rainbow Twizzlers. They taste like something that a five year old might enjoy.
I had company during the afternoon, our friends Tom and Melinda. They brought their new pup, Chief, a Rottweiler that is going to be huge when grown with a great personality to match.
How I enjoyed getting down on the ground with the little guy, wrestling, and having my face washed by puppy licks. It made me miss my old buddy, Brutus.
Sargie had to close last night and it was 9:30 before she walked through the door. Typical, she opens this morning. I think my bride got some sleep somewhere between coming and going. There're times she might be better off moving a cot into the Vision Center and sleeping there.
It's time to end and get going. I'm going to get my cracked tooth worked on this morning then will, no doubt, head to the shop for the rest of the day.
No time for deep thoughts this early morning.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
