October 1, 2018 - Sunday
41 degrees/partly cloudy/slight breeze
Pentoga Road
Brrr, the house is chilly this morning. Though we've had several freezing nights and frosty mornings, I've still not lit a fire in the wood stove. I've mentally got it fixed in my mind that the mere act will hasten winter's cold and snow. So far, I've opted to turn the thermostat down at night and back up first thing in the morning to take the chill out of the house.
We arrived home from Green Bay, Saturday, late afternoon. Sargie and I have been going through all the pictures from the past several days and to write a narrative for each is simply not practical.
So, bear with me if I skip writing and simply clump the photos together with an occasional thumbnail description here and there.
Here we go:
Sargie and I picked up Grady in Iron Mountain Thursday morning. We did a bit of shopping in Green Bay before going to the hotel.
That's Grandma Sargie way down below |
But the very most fun was riding the escalator up and down while Grandma Sargie was doing a bit of shopping, over and over, up and down and up and down and up and down and over and over...
Who knew the mall had such a fun amusement park ride?
Meeting friends and family at the hotel, Grady began to get restless, so we took a walk along the Fox River where several pieces of art are displayed.
We also played a cut throat game of Hide and Go Seek.
The rehearsal dinner Thursday night was wonderful, an informal affair, where everyone could mingle, talk, and get to know each other.
The bridal party sneaked outside for a quick picture |
Friday morning found us switching hotels and meeting the rest of the family.
After making a Grady exchange with his parents, we changed and were soon on our way to the afternoon wedding ceremony.
Beautiful Marley, who is wearing the same dress Sasha wore when she was in Derek and Leah's wedding. On Friday, Leah was Sasha's Matron of Honor and Derek presided over the ceremony. |
Shea, and Nikki |
Brielle and Aubrey Ann |
Reverend Derek Dixon saying, "Repeat after me..." |
I now pronounce you husband and wife... |
The reception began at 5 Friday afternoon.
Mini Me. I didn't realize until the reception that Grady and I were wearing the same outfits. No wonder people had a difficult time telling us apart. |
The bride and groom dance.
The daddy/daughter dance.
Later... let the good times roll!
I'm not certain what dance Cale and his Auntie Debbie are doing, but she seems totally into it. |
My Dancing Queen, other than the bride, the prettiest girl on the dance floor. |
It might have been well past midnight, but JC model, Nancy (far left) was in her prime, even while carrying a picture and on the move. |
And so ended two perfect days of love, laughter, and the witnessing of the union of two wonderful young people.
Sargie is off today. I think I'm safe when I say we'll probably be laying low, relaxing, and resting. The dancing queen did a load or two of laundry last night and I spent Saturday's remaining daylight hours mowing the yard. Neither of us has anything that HAS to be done today. I think I'm going to work really hard at doing nothing.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Surely you didn't think I was going to let a photo opportunity like this one pass me by, did you? |
