51 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road
Sunday was an almost picture perfect fall day. Sargie took advantage of the sunny and windy conditions to dry a few towels outside.
Unfortunately, like all perfect days, it flew by entirely too fast.
I worked in the shop most the morning. The first thing was to refashion and paint a hat for the female pumpkin.
After experimenting with several designs, I'm going to try to make a pumpkin a day this coming week. Halloween's coming!
Sargie really likes the natural containers I turn, those where the outside is left as it comes off the tree, but the inside is hollowed out.
They are difficult to turn as the limb is seldom round so when it spins, it wobbles. The trick is to hollow the inside without the chisel flying off the rest and doing some serious damage to the person who is turning.
Sargie and I enjoyed our Sunday afternoon ride around the area lakes.
It would be nice to walk out our back door and take off in our own float plane.
The moss in the lakes has settled for the year leaving the water crystal clear.
We drove by several camps where people were outside preparing their boats and buildings for the upcoming winter. In one area, we got a whiff of smoke from someone's wood stove and honestly, it smelled good. It's that time of year.
Once home, I went to the garden to feed the goldfish. Seems the flowers, those that haven't yet frozen and wilted, are making one last push to bloom.
Sargie and I spent last evening watching tv and talking. She works today from 11 to 8, a long one.
It's about time to start removing the dying or dead plants and vines from the garden. Rather than do it all at once, I think I'll clean one bed a day. It's to be nice all week and I'm in no hurry.
Brother-in-law, Ross, forwarded a few more pictures of Aubrey, Brielle, and Marley, from this past weekend. All were a part of Sasha and Alex's wedding.
It's time to get this uploaded and get the day started. I think I'll walk the full five miles this morning and try to work off some of the wedding calories from this past weekend. If I show up for my physical at the end of this month too far overweight, Dr. Katie will be all over me like a cheap, wet, t-shirt and a fat, old, man wearing a cheap, wet, t-shirt isn't a pretty thing to behold.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
