Wednesday dawned wet, warm, and windy |

My fingers are flying this morning so I can finish before You-Know-Who wakes up for the day. He's a great mini human, but trying to write while carrying on a conversation with a three year old is next to impossible.
Most of the Wednesday was spent working on a monogrammed trivet.
A trivet?
It's what one places a hot dish on.
I still need to do a bit of sanding then apply the finish and three rubber sticky feet on the backside before it's done.
I've been looking for an inexpensive way to install lighting in the large storage container. A string of lightbulbs down the middle would work, but that requires some heavy duty electric cord being laid to the unit with eight or ten bulbs hung the entire length.
After doing a bit of research, I learned that a ribbon of mini LED lights are extremely inexpensive. I ordered six rolls, each fifteen feet long, for $12.
It was time for a break. I put on my electrician's hat and experimented wiring a roll of low powered LED lights.
A converter was needed, something that would change AC, alternating current, to DC, direct current. I went to my electronic's drawer (most people call such a place a junk drawer) and found an old Radio Shack power supply.
With a bit of stripping and splicing, I soon had light.
The rolls of lights can be connected in a series and have adhesive on the backside. I hope to simply stick them to the ceiling. If my math is correct, I'll be able to install two rows, enough to provide adequate lighting in the forty foot storage container.
Sargie and I love cake and honestly, it's one of our favorite food groups. The afternoon was rainy and windy. What better time to bake a cake?
After a quick run to town to purchase the necessary ingredients, I made and frosted Sargie's favorite, a double layer German chocolate cake.
Sargie and Hambone arrived home late in the afternoon. After lots of hugs and kisses, we enjoyed pizza for supper.
We've discovered Hambone's not only a super hero, he's also the Pizza Monster!
Pizza, a sippy cup filled with milk, and watching Dancing With the Stars. How can life get any better? |
We took time after to play a game of Hide and Go Seek. Grandma Sargie searched high and low to find Grady, but to no avail.
He'd found the best place to hide under a chair and was completely invisible.
When Sargie was later describing Grady's newest hiding place to Macrea, she laughed so hard that tears were running down her face.
The remainder of the evening was spent watching television, playing games, putting together puzzles, reading Golden Books, eating cake and ice cream, and doing whatever it is two old people and a three year old do.
Today? One thing of which I'm certain ... Hambone's awake and it's time to let the good times roll.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
