Brenda and Peggy at Today's Smile Dentistry

June 6, 2017 - Tuesday evening
60 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road

I thought I'd better write this evening as I'll be heading to the airport early Wednesday morning and time will be at a premium.

Tuesday was a busy one. It started with washing the upstairs windows.

Things were progressing nicely when the phone rang. It was my friend, Brenda, from Eric-the-Dentist's office asking if I was okay. Seems I'd forgotten my 8 AM appointment.

She assured me I wasn't in trouble and if I wanted to come in, Eric would have time to fill my cavity.

I dropped everything and drove to Crystal Falls. Seems the scheduled appointment after mine had cancelled so it worked out well.

Eric and Betsy filled the hole in my head and I was back home within the hour.

Relaxing in the dentist's chair
Once home, I resumed washing the windows. It didn't take long to finish and I can check that unsavory chore off my list.

A long handled squeegee helps to reach the outside of the second floor windows.

Next on the agenda was mowing the lawn. It took nearly four hours to cut the yard, trails, and meadows.

I'm trying to coordinate mowing with Mom's birthday party so that it'll be freshly cut a day or two before. I've given up. The way it's growing, the grass very well may be mowed twice between now and a week from Saturday.

I was hot and tired of working. The late afternoon was gorgeous, too beautiful to be inside. With Sargie working late, there really was no reason why I couldn't go fishing.
The water is so clear that it appears the trailer is floating on the surface.
Though not as action packed as the day before, I caught several large bluegills on fly rod.

While trolling across the lake, a large fish took my lure. I fought it for several minutes before he straightened the hooks on the lure and I never did see what it was.

I'm going to ride with Sargie to Iron Mountain in the morning where she'll drop me off at the airport before work. I'll have a couple of hours to wait, but I don't mind. In fact, I may just walk to the lake across the road and spend an hour enjoying the nice weather.

With any luck at all, Mom and I will be back on Pentoga Road Thursday afternoon. If she gets too tired or my eyes begin to ache and run, we'll get a hotel room somewhere along the way and drive on in on Friday. Hopefully, that won't be the case and we'll be home sooner rather than later.

The Sweet Williams are beginning to bloom in the garden.
It's time for bed. First, I need to throw a pair of underthings into my briefcase along with some personal goodies. Other than that, I'm good to go.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
