Comin' through!
I know the picture is blurry, but I had to run to keep up with Sargie once she entered the store on Monday afternoon.
September 6, 2016 - Tuesday
70 degrees/thunderstorms - rain/breezy
Pentoga Road

Crash! Bang! Boom! It sounds as though we're about to get clobbered by a fairly hefty thunderstorm. On the other hand, it's been banging away to the north and west of us for the past hour, slowly heading this way. Failing disaster, I don't care what happens as long as it cools down and the humidity drops. Seventy degrees at 5 AM? Give me a break.

Yooper Brother Mark just sent this picture from the plant. He said it's raining so hard the drains are backing up and water is running onto the floor.
Sunday was delightfully lazy, yet somewhat costly. Sargie and I meandered north to Marquette and purchased a new kitchen entry door. The type she's wanted was on sale for 50% off and they had exactly what we needed.

What I don't understand is how I have the ability to walk into a large lumberyard needing only one item and come out two hours later with enough goodies to fill a semi trailer... along with an empty wallet.

How about a small LED light to hang over the lathe in the shop. I couldn't leave it behind.
Actually, it's not my fault that I found shrubs for the front of the house on sale for half price. I bought a bunch of those.

How about that flexible Dremel attachment to replace the worn-out old one that I bought years ago when I was down from the Arctic Circle visiting Mississippi Brother Garry and Jody? I paid $30 then, but the one on sale yesterday was a mere $24. Why, I'd be a fool not to buy it.

Then there were the thirty brushed nickel knobs for all the kitchen cabinets and drawers. OMG! What a bargain! We couldn't leave those behind!!

So the unwritten list of goodies we couldn't live without continued. It's a good thing we drove the Blazer. Everything barely fit inside and as it was, the back window had to be tied down.

We arrived back home by late afternoon. It took a while to unload the car and after, I spent a bit of time playing with my toys and playing fetch with Brutus.

Last night was spent in front of the television eating leftovers from Sunday of which there are plenty.

Sargie opens the Vision Center today. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I need to get back to my daily walking and try to work some of Holly's zucchini cake, zucchini bread, homemade rye bread, and apple bars, off from around my middle. That's not counting the potato salad, spaghetti, pork, fish, brats, hamburgers, and salads that remain inside the refrigerator to be consumed. I have the feeling that no weight will be lost until it's all eaten.

This all needs to be consumed in the name of healthy weight loss
Well, guess I might as well do myself a favor and go have a leftover or two for breakfast. It's called the Zucchini Cake, Zucchini Bread, Rye bread, and Apple Bar Diet, and hey, I'm willing to try most anything to lose a bit of weight. Might as well get it gone. Time to dine.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Go ahead and laugh. We don't care. Better late in life than never.
