The gardening season will soon be upon us |

Pentoga Road
There's not much time to write this morning as I have a doctor's appointment at 8:15 in Iron Mountain. The office called on Friday as a courtesy and for the life of me, I couldn't remember why I needed to go. They said it's a six-month follow up, but I can't remember what's being followed. Normally, I'd have cancelled, but my blood pressure medicine isn't working so I need to talk to the doctor anyway. For a guy who didn't go to the doctor for decades, it seems as though I'm visiting her way too often these days.
I got busy and unloaded the entire trailer full of wood first thing Sunday morning.
Another six to eight loads and I'll have my firewood for the year after next. |
It all went off like clock work.
Sargie and I took a long day-off drive and otherwise, enjoyed the afternoon. It was sunny, but the air had a nip to it due to a fairly strong breeze.
We dropped the trailer back at the plant late Sunday afternoon. It had been a nice, relaxing, day.
I'd previously taken some time to plant more flowers. Like the petunias (that are doing well) the seeds, pansies and moss rose, are very fine and tiny and need a bit of special care to germinate. I want to fill another tray with starting medium and sow lavender later today and treat it as an annual. We're too far north for it to overwinter year after year.
Like I said, there's not much time today. I should be back from the doctor's by mid morning and think I'll work around the garden. The day is to be nice before it turns cold later with several inches of snow forecast to begin Wednesday. That's okay. The days are getting longer and there's some real heat in the sun. I believe spring has sprung.
Time to slurp a quick cup of coffee and get ready to hit the road.
As we all know, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Give me a pry bar, a mallet, large pliers, and a block of wood and I can fix most anything... as long as a person doesn't look too closely! |
