0 degrees/windy/clear skies
Janesville, Wisconsin
I just received a text from Yooper Brother Mark saying it is -18 up home this morning. Darn, and we missed it. At a relative, balmy, 0 degrees in Janesville, at least we're heading the right direction... SOUTH!
Cold temperatures, wind, and snow... all in our rearview mirror |
Once home, I began cleaning, did what little laundry there was to do, cancelled the paper, held the mail, toted that barge and lifted that bale. It was a busy day to say the least.
Nora Roberts is Sargie's favorite author. I found a trilogy of books, eleven hours of reading, online, downloaded the large file, condensed it to fit on my phone, and tried a test run. It works. We'll have romance novels all the way to Mississippi and back.
I have a feeling the "sensitive guy" in the old professor will be called upon to listen to eleven hours of Nora Roberts. |
Note the GPS... so I don't get lost in the car wash. |
From chicken and chips, to tangerines, popcorn, candy, and donuts, we ate our way to Janesville last night. Accompanied by nonstop talking, the four hours flew by.
Poor Sargie... she'd worked all day then drove the entire length of Wisconsin. It was a tired girl whose head hit the pillow last night.
We both slept like babies. I was up fairly early this morning and tip toed to the lobby to sip coffee and take advantage of the continental breakfast. Sargie was up when I returned and is almost ready to roll. We'll soon be back on the road headed south.
Destination? Memphis, Tennessee. We'll hopefully arrive sometime late this afternoon or evening. Either way, we're in no big hurry because we're on a road trip.
After all, a man's work is never done, even when it is enjoyable.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road by way of Janesville, Wisconsin...
