December 7, 2015 - Monday
27 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

There's no time to write this morning. Sargie's up, doing her early morning thing, then will feed and get Grady ready to go. Both will be off early so Sargie can leave him at the babysitter's in Iron Mountain before going on to the Vision Center. So, with that in mind, I'll just post yesterday's pictures and let them tell the story.

Grady loves the new penguin cap that Grandma Sargie got him. He wore it most the day, indoors and out.

After four or a thousand coats of polyurethane, the new sign was mounted alongside the drive.
I had no trouble finding help to bring in fire wood Sunday afternoon. In fact, my helper cried a bit when it was time to go back inside.

But not to fear. Grandma Sargie was adding more decorations to the tree and there were willing hands to help.

We traveled to town to pick up the Blazer from Mechanic Dave's. He also installed the new lens on Sargie's Kia. After, we came home and played in the yard a bit.

Though you can't see him, he's giving directions to Brutus.
I spent some time yesterday piecing together the cross and rose. I stared at the thing for the longest time and once one piece fit, the others fell right into place. I glued all and clamped what I could. Today will begin sanding and deciding what to use for a background. Right now, I'm leaning towards using red pine firewood in the round, cutting off a piece, sanding, and preparing it. We'll see.

This morning's peace and quiet will soon be filled with the sounds of a little boy. Grady has learned to say, "Pa'pa," (meaning Grandpa) and of course, I eat it up. He also says Grandma Sargie, but it sounds like, "Mama Eeegie." Whatever it is, just ask Sargie. She'll tell you it sounds perfect.

I think we're going to rise early Tuesday morning and head south to Green Bay for a day of Christmas shopping. Sargie's off and she needs a copilot, so I'm not certain I'll have time to write. Possibly tonight, who knows?

It's time to get things rolling for the day.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Grandma rocks him to sleep and Grandpa carries him upstairs to bed.
