Pentoga Road
I wish there was someone to refill my coffee cup. Boy, I feel lazy this morning. My first deep thought of the day; do I get more coffee now or wait?
The Mighty Brule is beginning to freeze over |
Sunday was a relaxed day on Pentoga Road...well, other than coaching the football game. Sargie and I both slept in. She later made a big breakfast and we enjoyed eating in the living room, letting the sun shine through the windows and basking in the natural warmth.
I tried to once again work on the snowmobile. There must be water or moisture in the pistons as when I attempted to pull the starter cord, I found the pistons frozen in place. I placed a trouble light under the hood and after thawing, the pistons were free. I'm not sure whether to take the old beast to the mechanic's or simply sell both machines for whatever they might bring and start over. It's all these corporate decisions that will make a person old before his time.
Sargie and I made our usual trip into town to order bread and got her Coke, then enjoyed a short drive, generally heading in the direction of home.
While I watched the Packers game, Sargie set up the Christmas village that Mom had given her. She has it looking beautiful in the dining room, putting lights inside some of the buildings and making it look realistic. The village was painted by my great aunt, Ila, years ago and was given to Mom as a gift. It's a family treasure. I'll feature closer looks of individual people and buildings as Christmas gets closer.
Last night was a lazy one, spent mostly in front of the tv. We headed to bed early and both slept well.
Sargie opens today. I'm going to make a decision on those snowmobiles so I can get them out of the barn. Otherwise, I'll take my usual walk, make a quick trip to town, then spend the remainder of the day in the shop working on the sign.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
Inspecting the lake. It should begin icing over at any time. |
