It was Grady/Grandpa time on Saturday
September 13, 2015 - Sunday morning
34 degrees/clear/calm
Pentoga Road

It certainly was cold enough to frost the last two nights, but I don't think we got any to speak of. It appears we had a light cloud cover last night and that might have saved us. None of the garden plants have shown any signs of frost, so they live to grow another week. Right now, it's a matter of letting the squash, field pumpkins, and cantaloupe ripen and the beans to dry on the vines. Oh, and the giant pumpkin... to add another ten or fifty pounds.

Grady and I had a ball yesterday, although I'm not sure where the day went. We never did get our four-wheeler ride that I was looking forward to. Grady didn't get up until 8:30 or later, then by the time we changed diapers, had breakfast, changed diapers with an added bonus, got dressed, changed diapers with another added bonus, got dressed again and played for a while in the living room, he was beginning to yawn and rub his eyes. He's been known to take a morning nap. So has his Grandpa, for that matter.

Sometimes it feels good to smear oatmeal, bananas, and toast all over one's face with a milk chaser dumped over the head.

I wanted to get my morning walk in. Hmm, how to combine a nap and a walk?

How about a stroller ride to the lake and back!

So we did, stopping to chat with a neighbor who was in his yard working up wood along the way. Grady was in a social mood and never did fall asleep until a few steps away from the drive.

He woke up when entering the house, so we ate lunch before he finally took a real nap. Soon after, Grandma Sargie arrived home. She'd made arrangements to take off early.

We made a quick trip to town for groceries and spent the rest of the day playing, laughing, and talking. It was a great day, even if we didn't do everything I'd hope we might.

Macrea will be coming to pick up Grady later today, but it better not be until after the Packers/Bears game. Grady has his Packer's jersey and I'll be wearing mine. Both of us are ready to open up a can of hurt on the Bears. I hope the Packers feel the same way.

I better get some pictures uploaded before Grady and Grandma Sargie get up for the day. Otherwise, it probably won't happen.

You in there, Grandma Sargie? How could she possibly go into the bathroom alone!?
After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
