July 5, 2015 - Sunday
65 degrees/clear/calm winds
Pentoga Road
They are saying this will be the warmest day of the season with a forecast high in the low to mid 80's. It's summertime in the U.P.
Emmie, along with her mommy and daddy were up early this morning and should be arriving in Green Bay at the airport fairly soon. Matt estimated they would be home in New Hampshire by 5 this afternoon by way of Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
The Mighty Milligan Fourth of July was once again a rousing success. I'm going to skip writing this morning (Grady's up and going and Grandpa wants to play with him) and simply post pictures.
I cut and parboiled fifteen pounds of chicken Saturday morning.
Macrea, Matt, and I, had a killer game of H-O-R-S-E. Matt was the winner. |
Later, at Derek and Leah's, in Iron Mountain...
Sister-in-law, Nancy, donning an authentic cowboy hat, in a JC Penny pose. Giddy up, Nancy! |
Though he's 6'4" tall, I can still hoist that boy on my shoulders. |
The house is already growing quieter. Macrea and Grady will be leaving early this afternoon. Mom's last full day with us is tomorrow and before we know it, only Sargie, Brutus, and I will be left.
I'm going to play with Grady a bit before working on replacing some rotten trim around the barn door.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
