At long last... a much needed rain |
May 11, 2015 - Monday evening
53 degrees/cloudy/calm
Pentoga Road
This has been a different kind of day. We awakened to rain hitting the metal roof overhead and much cooler temperatures. It was a Godsend. Dad used to call a rain after an extended dry period a "million dollar rain." Today's was just that.
It's not a lot, but that quarter-inch is the first that's fallen in a long while. More is forecast later this week, then again next week. We'll take it. |
The pup acts much like a child does when he's sick and has demanded my undivided attention much of the day. He's not slow to whimper and at one point, I sat on the floor beside him. He quickly climbed on my lap and rolled over just enough for me to rub his belly.
Even when I was reading the news on my computer this morning, he made sure I didn't forget he was a bit under the weather.
I managed to sneak out of the house for a couple of hours during the day to work in the shop. Other than that, it was Brutus and me.
Sargie was home later this evening. We watched our usual Monday night Dancing With the Stars.
She's off tomorrow and we've talked about traveling to Green Bay to purchase the usual household items at Sam's Club. Whether we go or not depends on Brutus and how he's doing. I am happy to say he seems much better tonight and for the first time in the past twenty-four hours, he wagged his tail and showed some life. If he's not better tomorrow, I'll try getting him into the local veterinarian.
I see that Sargie's eyes are more closed than open. It's time for bed.
Tomorrow? Who knows, but I'm sure there'll be some shaking and moving of some sort on Pentoga Road.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
