Yooper Brother Mark and Sheri celebrating after the Packers victory on Sunday afternoon. |

Sunday was a fun day... well, if you are a Packers fan, it was fun. It was also a good one for a grandpa who loves to see his children and grandchildren participate in outside family activities like fishing.
My grandson, Coleman, with a six-plus pound large mouth bass. Seems as though he could take his Grandpa fishing. |
We arrived at Mark and Sheri's well before noon for the big Dallas/Green Bay game. I received a text from Sarah showing that even Isabella was decked out in a Packer's outfit and watching the contest.
Sheri really pulled out all the stops and made a to-die-for stromboli for lunch. Along with venison sausage and other goodies beforehand, she had macaroni salad to accompany the stromboli.
The four of us yelled and screamed, laughed and cheered, as our Packers came alive in the second half. Even Sargie, who has never claimed to be a football fan, got into the action.
After some loses that were almost too close to call over the past two years, it felt good to walk away with a playoff victory. Next week's contest against Seattle will make today's win look like a cake walk. Oh well, we'll take it one week at a time and savor today's victory.
Sargie works early today. It's to be another cold one with tonight's lows some of the coldest we've seen this year. No doubt, I'll read some assignments and beyond that, who knows?
Meanwhile, it's time for a good cup of coffee and listen to the news.
My daughter-in-law, Melinda, did her part in putting meat on the table. No, that's not the same bass Coleman caught. |
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
